Livium CEO and managing director Simon Linge joins Jonathan Jackson in the Proactive studio to discuss a five-year exclusive recycling agreement with ZECO Energy Pty Ltd to manage lithium-ion battery recycling from ZECO’s network.
The agreement, which commenced on February 19, 2025, and is managed by Livium’s subsidiary Envirostream Australia Pty Ltd, covers the end-of-life recycling of residential and commercial energy storage system (ESS) battery packs supplied by ZECO Energy.
Livium will receive processing fees for sorting and recycling the batteries, along with additional revenue from dismantling, discharging and transport services. The contract is exclusive but does not include minimum volume commitments and the financial impact has not been quantified. There is an option to extend the agreement for an additional three years beyond the initial term.
ZECO Energy, which supplies battery systems from brands such as Tesla and Samsung SDI, has more than 40,000 active customers. The partnership supports ZECO’s sustainability goals by ensuring responsible battery management.
Livium sees the deal as part of its broader strategy to secure exclusive recycling contracts and expand its operations into other battery sectors, including e-mobility and electric vehicles. This agreement complements Livium’s existing battery recycling partnerships and supports its long-term growth in the circular economy.
