ATOME PLC (AIM:ATOM) CEO Olivier Mussat talked with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about the significance of Hy24’s proposed investment in the company’s Villeta project. Mussat described the partnership as a critical catalyst on ATOME’s road to a final investment decision (FID), highlighting its importance in securing both equity and debt financing.
“The largest investor in the hydrogen sector finally signs on the dotted line—it's a good validation,” Mussat said, emphasising the credibility Hy24 brings to the project. He noted that the partnership supports ATOME’s ambitions in the hydrogen space, particularly in sectors such as e-fuels, mobility, and green steel.
Mussat outlined the next steps, including finalising contracts for the Villeta project and preparing for construction. He stressed that the company is also building a pipeline of new opportunities, with projects in Yguazu, Costa Rica, and potential collaborations with other developers.
For 2025, ATOME’s priority is to close the Villeta project and transition from the FID phase to the production phase, ensuring sustainable growth and value for shareholders.
