EDM Resources Inc (TSX-V:EDM, OTC:SWNLF) CEO Mark Haywood told investors that the company is making progress in bringing its Scotia Mine into operation.
In a corporate update, the company highlighted new developments in its Dense Media Separation (DMS) study, regulatory applications, and stakeholder engagement.
EDM confirmed that a Dense Media Separation study, commissioned in 2024, is underway to assess the viability of DMS equipment at the Scotia Mine.
The company engaged SGS Laboratories to conduct the study, with sample runs at SGS’s pilot plant in Lakefield, Ontario.
Final results are expected next month, the company said.
Elsewhere, EDM continues work on surface and groundwater modeling as part of its application for Fisheries Act Authorization from Canada’s Department of Fisheries and Oceans, with plans to submit the application in the summer.
EDM also said it is maintaining engagement with First Nations stakeholders and local communities as part of its social license initiatives for restarting the mine.
Silver Royalty and Gypsum Offtake
The company is working to finalize an agreement with Silver Crown Royalties (SCRi) regarding the sale of its anticipated annual silver production. EDM noted that the deal's progress is dependent on SCRi securing the necessary financing.
Additionally, EDM is negotiating definitive terms for a gypsum offtake agreement covering 5 million tonnes of NI 43-101 mineral reserves at the Scotia Mine, as outlined in a 2021 pre-feasibility study.
