Riversgold Ltd is poised to begin drilling at the Kalgoorlie East Gold Project in WA, at the Northern Zone, a 600-metre-wide porphyry gold system, after securing aircore and reverse circulation (RC) drilling rigs.
An RC rig is due to arrive on site Friday this week and will be added to immediate drilling plans – RGL will drill 1,280 metres with most planned to a 100-metre to 120-metre hole depth.
The company intends to test for further mineralisation beneath previous holes that ended in mineralisation and high-grade shallow intercepts.
Delving deeper for higher-grade gold
“Two rigs are now planned to kick off the 2025 drill season at our Kalgoorlie East Gold Project,” Riversgold chair David Lenigas said.
“We have added an RC rig to the program that we announced on February 13 to drill into the transition zone below the weathered oxide zone.”
The 2,000-metre aircore drilling program is due to begin around March 17, testing for shallower mineralisation than the RC rig.
The company has also begun preliminary work for a Northern Zone mineral resource estimate (MRE), running gamma logs to provide bulk density measurements.
RGL has also submitted a mining lease application covering the Northern Zone tenement (M25/389) to the WA Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DEMIRS) in a bid to convert the exploration licence into a mining lease.
