AFC Energy (LON:AFC) is still expecting first power from the KORE system - the world’s largest alkaline fuel cell system - in July this year.
The firm updated Wednesday on its first 240kW KORE system at Air Products' Stade facility in Germany, saying the POWER-UP schedule remains on track.
Adam Bond, AFC's chief executive, said: "We continue to make great progress towards the successful deployment of AFC's first KORE system in Germany in the second half of this year.
"The challenging target set in fast tracking the deployment timetable by 18 months, and having the KORE delivered and operational by July 2015, has to date proven deliverable and we continue to wait in anticipation of a successful demonstration of the KORE system in July."
The module itself continues to be constructed in Coventry, UK, and is on target for completion in time to allow operations to begin in Germany.
Meanwhile, work has been completed on schedule and budget on the deep foundations that will house the KORE system.
AFC and its advisers continue to work closely with local regulatory authorities on the final building permit for the Stade facility, it added.
Significantly, KORE has passed a rigorous examination of its design safety functions using the Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) method and an initial HAZOP review of KORE buildings, utilities and facilities has been completed, with follow-up actions underway, the firm said.
AFC Energy shares added 4.58% to 40p each.
