Anglo Asian Mining set for a milestone year with record copper on the cards

Anglo Asian Mining PLC (AIM:AAZ, OTC:AGXKF) is set for a big year, with copper production expected to hit record levels as the company brings its new Gilar mine into full operation.

Gold output is also set to rise significantly, marking a strong recovery after two years of reduced output due to a partial shutdown.

The company expects to produce between 28,000 and 33,000 ounces of the yellow metal in 2025, up from just over 15,000 ounces in 2024.

Copper output is forecast to surge from 377 tonnes last year to between 6,500 and 6,800 tonnes. Turnover is expected to be between $110 million and $125 million, with earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) projected at $45 million to $55 million.

The restart of mining at Demirli could provide an additional boost, but Anglo Asian has not yet factored this into its forecasts.

Work is underway to evaluate the site, and production from the plant is expected to resume before the end of the year. The company will update its guidance once operations at Demirli are confirmed.

With the Gilar mine driving growth and the potential for additional output from Demirli, 2025 is shaping up to be a turning point for Anglo Asian Mining as it strengthens its position in the gold and copper market.

CEO Reza Vaziri said: "2025 will be a milestone year for the company as we begin to ramp up our proportion of copper within our production portfolio, ahead of bringing the larger Garadag and Xarxar copper assets into production in the coming years."
