Ariana Resources say portfolio companies making good progress

Ariana Resources PLC (AIM:AAU) has provided an update on its Asgard Metals Fund, highlighting major developments across its portfolio of mining investments.

The fund, which focuses on mineral exploration and development, has seen significant progress in several key projects.

One of the biggest milestones comes from Pallas Resources, in which Asgard holds a 7% stake. Pallas has signed a major joint venture with Ivanhoe Mines, one of the world’s top copper producers.

Ivanhoe will initially invest $18.7 million to explore copper-rich areas in Kazakhstan, with up to $115 million committed for the next phase, including 217,000 metres of drilling. The partnership aims to uncover large copper deposits in one of the world’s most promising mining regions.

Ariana has also increased its stake in Panther Metals to 4.9% after extending its consulting arrangement for another year.

Panther recently completed a scoping study for its Coglia nickel and cobalt project in Australia, estimating a 10-year mine life. The company has also drilled several gold targets near Laverton, returning promising results.

Altai Resources, another Asgard-backed company, has expanded its Kokpekty West project by 50% following a high-resolution magnetic survey. The work has identified new copper and nickel targets, with further exploration planned.

Ariana’s managing director, Kerim Sener, said: “Our other portfolio companies, such as Annamite Resources and Altai Resources, continue to make good progress with their planned exploration programmes and have been successful in identifying targets for drill testing.”

Annamite Resources, in which Asgard holds a 5.9% stake, has strengthened its position in Laos. The company has two key projects, Sokdee and Vangma, both containing large copper, gold and base metal anomalies. Recent exploration has identified multiple new mineral targets, further boosting the project’s potential.

Sener is optimistic about Asgard’s growth, stating: “We are very pleased to be able to report further significant developments within the Asgard portfolio since our last update in January 2024.” He added that a full portfolio review will be provided in 2026.

With investments spread across Asia, Australia and beyond, Asgard Metals Fund continues to expand its reach in the global mining industry, securing deals and uncovering new opportunities for future development.
