Great Boulder Resources identifies multiple shallow gold zones at new Side Well South prospect

Great Boulder Resources Ltd has discovered a new prospect in the Ironbark corridor of the Side Well Gold Project in Western Australia, identifying several shallow gold zones at Side Well South.

First-pass reconnaissance aircore drilling struck gold with assays of up to 34 metres at 1.25 g/t gold from 17 metres, with a higher-grade component of 8 metres at 3.16 g/t from 26 metres, and 41 metres at 0.57 g/t from 57 metres, including 7 metres at 1.11 g/t.

GBR believes these results could be extensions to high-grade lodes within the historical Golden Bracelet mine workings further to the south.

Potential to expand resource base

“Results from the first nine aircore holes drilled this year at Side Well South have identified a new shallow, high-grade gold lode, 200 metres north of the historical Golden Bracelet mine and 140 metres west of the high-grade discovery we announced in January,” Great Boulder Resources managing director Andrew Paterson said.

“This area is extremely prospective, highlighted by the number of historical mine workings and the surface anomalism we’ve identified using auger geochemistry.

“Any new discoveries of shallow gold at Side Well are exciting because they have potential to add resource ounces quickly, giving us more options to optimise a mine development.

“We are still waiting on assays for another 62 holes in this program. Follow-up drilling will be scheduled in conjunction with the reverse circulation (RC) program currently underway at Mulga Bill North.”

GBR’s drilling also struck multiple broad zones of up to 40 metres wide of 0.2 g/t to 0.5 g/t gold, with high-grade intersections contained within, and intends to follow up with an RC program at Side Well South.

There are 62 aircore results at Side Well South and 22 at the Saltbush prospect still pending while reverse circulation (RC) drilling is ongoing at Mulga Bill North.
