Yandal Resources advances IWB Project; identifies deeper gold at Arrakis; begins drill testing at Siona

Yandal Resources Ltd is looking deeper beneath the surface at the Ironstone Well-Barwidgee (IWB) Gold Project in Western Australia, undertaking follow-up drilling at the Arrakis and Siona prospects beneath previous drilling.

Initial reverse circulation (RC) drilling results at Arrakis are pointing to gold mineralisation at depth. Forming part of the 3-kilometre-long Caladan regolith anomaly, Arrakis’ mineralisation appears to sit in a sub-vertical orientation, untested at depth and along strike.

YRL has begun deeper RC drilling to test for more gold as the Caladan anomaly in general has only been shallowly tested by a single drill traverse.

Siona and New England Granite drilling

In addition to the work at Arrakis, Yandal is also beginning a 1,200-metre diamond drilling program at the Siona discovery to test below existing RC holes and re-enter them for a deeper look below the surface.

Diamond tails will test for extensions to previous results, which included 107 metres at 1 g/t gold from 96 metres to the end of the hole and 11 metres at 0.5 g/t gold from 270 metres.

The RC drilling ongoing at the New England Granite (NEG) prospect is also advancing at pace, testing the eastern intrusive margin and several internal structures prospective for gold with broad-spaced holes.

An infill ground gravity survey has also been completed over NEG and YRL is processing the data.

Finally, first-pass aircore drilling at the Irulan prospect has generated some promising results (including 11 metres at 1.7 g/t gold from 97 metres to end of hole), which YRL will explore further with additional aircore drilling later in the year.

In the near term, YRL expects to field results from the NEG drilling in March and results from diamond drilling at Siona in April, and begin a broad-space aircore program across the greater Caladan target area once heritage surveys are in place.
