Northstar Gold sees solid exploration potential after latest drill results from Miller

Northstar Gold Corp. (CSE:NSG) has revealed a new gold-sulphide horizon and a near-surface copper zone at its Miller copper-gold property in Ontario.

Three drill holes intersected a newly identified stratiform gold-bearing sulphide horizon over a 500-metre conductive strike length.

Significant intercepts included 0.84 grams per tonne (g/t) gold over 2.08 metres and 0.80 g/t gold over 0.29 metres with anomalous zinc concentrations.

The company said the results suggest strong exploration potential for thicker gold and zinc deposits.

Drilling targeted copper-gold-silver volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) mineralization over a 1,000-metre strike extension from the historic Cam Copper Mine.

Another hole intersected a near-surface copper zone, grading up to 1.38% copper over 0.3 metres and extending 500 metres southeast of the Cam Copper Mine. The discovery follows historic trench sampling that returned copper grades of up to 17.9%.

George Pollock, Northstar's vice president of exploration, expressed optimism about the company's drill results, noting that the discovery of gold-bearing volcanogenic sulphide mineralization over a significant strike length supports the potential for substantial gold and base metal deposits.

Pollock highlighted that past explorers may have overlooked the area’s gold potential and emphasized the role of large gabbro sills in mineralization.

The exploration head also cited the LaRonde Mine as an economic example of similar gold-rich VMS deposits.

While the current drill results may not be economically viable on their own, Pollock said they validate further exploration efforts, which will include geophysical surveys and geochemical sampling in 2025 to identify thicker mineralized sections for future drilling.

Northstar plans further exploration, including geophysical surveys and geochemical sampling in 2025, to refine targets for follow-up drilling.
