Risers & Fallers - Aurasian Minerals, African Copper, easyJet and Baobab Resources

Below are some of the news-driven share price changes at 4pm.

RISERS

Aurasian Minerals (LON: AUM), up 74.60%. The company today moved a step closer to unlocking the mineral wealth of Laos in Southeast Asia as it unveiled a new joint venture, sending shares in the company rocketing. The tie-up is with Lao investment company Sahamit Phattana and the new group will undertake exploration in the country.

Highlands Natural Resources (LON:HNR), up 48.65% after it said discussions regarding the acquisition of the company's first production asset in the US oil and gas sector are advanced, and that it is to acquire a 75% stake in US-based Diversion Technologies’ current patent applications for a new diverter well simulation technology.

African Copper (LONACU), up 33.33%. The company, which recently announced plans to go private, issued a correction to an earlier statement that stated it would remain subject to the City Code on Takeovers and Mergers once its listing on AIM has been cancelled.

FALLERS

easyJet (LON:EZJ), down 9.38% after the low-cost airline made a rare first half profit but warned an early Easter would likely reduce its third quarter revenue by four percentage points.

Baobab Resources (LON:BAO), down a further 20% after falling last week too after it was revealed the takeover offer by Redbird Investments has received acceptances in respect of 85.59%, and not the 87.62% reported a week ago; the discrepancy was down to an administrative mix-up.

New World Oil & Gas (LON:NEW) down 25%, as it said it was treating a letter "purporting to be a letter of requisition" as invalid after advice from its Jersey lawyers and having reviewed its register of members.
