Chinese automaker SAIC Motor has announced a partnership with tech giant Huawei to develop advanced smart electric vehicles.
The collaboration will focus on manufacturing, supply chain management, and sales, though specific models have not been disclosed.
SAIC, which saw a 20% drop in vehicle sales last year amid intense competition and price wars, is looking to regain momentum. Its ventures with Volkswagen and General Motors also suffered, with sales declining 5.5% and 56.5%, respectively.
Huawei has been expanding its presence in the EV market, forming partnerships with state-owned automakers like Changan, Dongfeng, and BAIC. The deal with SAIC further cements its role as a key player in China’s growing smart vehicle industry.
