The Canadian Securities Exchange (CSE) has released its market statistics for January 2025, highlighting strong trading activity and capital-raising efforts during the month.
In January, the total trading volume of CSE-listed securities reached 1.5 billion shares, with a total trading value of $519 million.
Issuers completed 104 financings, raising a combined $118 million.
The CSE also saw an expansion in its listed companies, welcoming two new additions during the month. As of the month end, the total number of listed securities on the exchange stood at 772.
Richard Carleton, CSE CEO, highlighted that more securities were exchanged on the CSE in January than any other month in nearly three years.
“It is highly encouraging to see investor interest in emerging securities continue to build,” Carleton said.
“We were also host to the initial public offering of Great Northern Energy Metals Inc in January, which was the only IPO completed on any Canadian exchange that month.”
The CEO concluded: “With mining conference season now in full swing, we look forward to connecting with our stakeholders at the PDAC convention and other upcoming gatherings.”
