Vitt detailed the results of a post hoc analysis from a Phase 1b clinical trial, where patients receiving the highest dose of IMU-856 experienced a 250% increase in baseline GLP-1 levels. He also discussed preclinical safety studies in rats, which demonstrated a dose-dependent reduction in weight gain—further supporting the drug's potential in obesity management.
The global obesity treatment market is projected to reach $170 billion, with current solutions mainly relying on injectable GLP-1 mimetics. Vitt highlighted that IMU-856’s potential as an oral therapy could offer a new and more convenient option for patients.
