Zytronic PLC shed over 15% on Wednesday as the touch screen technology maker firmed up plans to close after failing to find a buyer.
Despite discussions with multiple prospective buyers, the company said no suitable deals had emerged for trading subsidiary Zytronic Displays Ltd.
An “orderly wind-down” of its assets would begin in consultation with FRP Advisory as a result.
“FRP Advisory is in late stages of finalising its outcome statement which will provide shareholders with an indicative range of returns available,” it added.
Blaydon-based Zytronic has around 50 employees and dates back to 1943, when it originally made gas mask lenses.
It had sought a buyer since late last year, after unveiling a £600,000 pre-tax loss in the year to March 2024.
Shares dropped 14.4% to 44.95p.
