Voyageur Pharmaceuticals Ltd (TSX-V:VM, OTC:VYYRF) has announced the launch of its MRI contrast agent development program in partnership with Applied Pharmaceutical Innovations and Rain Cage Carbon.
The collaboration will focus on developing high-performance MRI contrast formulations using advanced nanotechnology.
The program will utilize the vanadium endohedral fullerene molecule (V@C60) developed by Rain Cage Carbon, with Applied Pharmaceutical Innovations conducting the formulation and testing process at its Edmonton facilities.
The research will assess the agents' relaxivity, sensitivity, and imaging performance, with successful outcomes leading to pre-clinical development.
Voyageur's chief science officer Dr Iryna Saranchova will oversee the drug discovery and clinical development process, supported by Applied Pharmaceuticas Innovations’ scientists, Dr Daniel Trepanier and Dr Daren Ure.
