HIVE Digital Technologies (TSX-V:HIVE, NASDAQ:HIVE) announced the appointment of Craig Tavares as president and chief operating officer of Buzz HPC, a HIVE Digital Technologies company, to lead its GPU Cloud and High Performance Computing (HPC) business.
Tavares has more than 20 years of experience in digital infrastructure, with leadership roles across cloud, telecom, and data center operations.
His career includes developing Toronto Hydro Telecom’s metro fiber network, launching Aptum’s global cloud business with Microsoft and AWS partnerships, and overseeing Apple’s cloud infrastructure strategy.
At Buzz HPC, Tavares will focus on scaling the company’s Sovereign AI GPU platform, which runs on renewable energy and serves demanding workloads across AI, big data, and HPC markets.
The company plans to expand through vertically integrated infrastructure and differentiated service offerings to capitalize on growing market demand.

"Buzz already provides one of the industry's highest-performance Sovereign AI GPU platforms powered by renewable energy, and we will expand it through vertically integrated infrastructure and a suite of differentiated HPC service offerings."
Frank Holmes, Buzz HPC co-founder and executive chairman, welcomed Tavares to the position.
"With his unique skillset of leadership, entrepreneurialism, and ethics, alongside his explicit and tacit knowledge of digital infrastructure, cloud, and high-performance computing, he is a true champion of our vision to scale our HPC business to $100 million in revenue,” Holmes said.
