Moderna Inc (NASDAQ:MRNA, ETR:0QF) stock moved higher after the pharmaceutical firm posted mixed results for the fourth quarter.
It reported a wider-than-expected loss per share of $2.91, compared to estimates of a loss per share of $2.73.
Revenue of $966 million, on the other hand, surpassed expectations of $964 million but represented a 65% year-over-year decline.
For 2025, Moderna guided revenue in the range of $1.5 billion to $2.5 billion, below analyst estimates of $3.3 billion.
The company said it is focused on its cost reduction efforts, with a goal of cutting nearly $1 billion by the year-end.
"In 2025, we remain focused on driving sales, delivering up to 10 product approvals through 2027, and expanding cost efficiencies across our business. By the end of 2025, we aim to remove nearly $1 billion in costs,” Moderna CEO Stéphane Bancel said.
“With strong momentum in our late-stage pipeline, we anticipate multiple approvals starting this year, along with key Phase 3 readouts that will support our long-term growth."
Shares of Moderna had added 5.5% at about $33 late morning on Friday.
