Medicus Pharma (NASDAQ:MDCX, TSX-V:MDCX) has announced progress in its Phase 2 clinical study SKNJCT-003, which is evaluating its investigational drug D-MNA in basal cell carcinoma (BCC).
The company said that the trial, currently underway at nine clinical sites in the United States, has now randomized more than 50% of the 60 patients expected to be enrolled.
Medicus is on track to complete an interim data analysis before the end of the first quarter, according to a statement from Medicus.
Findings will be submitted to the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) seeking a Type C meeting in Q2, aiming to fast-track the clinical development of D-MNA.
The study evaluates two dose levels (100μg and 200μg) against a placebo, with the high dose previously proven safe and well-tolerated in a Phase 1 study where six participants achieved a complete response.
Investors welcomed the update, sending shares of Medicus Pharma up 5.5% to about $3.25 before Friday’s opening bell.
