Liberty Star outlines 2025 exploration plans for Red Rock Canyon and Hay Mountain

Liberty Star Uranium & Metals Corp. (OTCQB:LBSR), dba Liberty Star Minerals, is advancing its exploration strategy at the Red Rock Canyon Gold Project in 2025 following promising gold discoveries in 2024.

The company is focusing on refining high-grade targets and evaluating bulk tonnage potential through geophysics and drilling.

Red Rock Canyon, located north of the Hay Mountain project in southeastern Arizona, has shown promising signs of an extensive epithermal gold system.

Historical drilling between 1999 and 2004 indicated near-surface mineralization, prompting Liberty Star to launch systematic surface exploration in 2020.

Results from the company’s 2024 channel sampling program confirmed multiple assays exceeding one ounce per ton, including standout grades of 107.5 g/t and 60.0 g/t gold. Sampling also identified a 400-foot-long high-grade vein structure, partially covered by overburden.

“The grades we’ve seen indicate a broad, high-grade epithermal gold system at RRC, likely related to the suspected porphyry system at Hay Mountain,” chief geologist Jim Bryce said.

“With multiple assays over an ounce per ton, we are in an enviable position—high-grade potential combined with significant bulk tonnage possibilities.”

Looking ahead

Building on these discoveries, Liberty Star’s 2025 exploration program will focus on further defining mineralized zones. Induced polarization (IP) geophysics will be deployed to map subsurface conductivity and refine drill targets, while expanded trenching and channel sampling will provide additional data on the size and continuity of high-grade veins.

A drilling program is also in the works to test depth extensions and evaluate the bulk tonnage potential surrounding these structures.

In addition to technical exploration, the company is actively pursuing joint venture opportunities to fund drilling and accelerate development at both Red Rock Canyon and the adjacent copper-rich Hay Mountain Project.
