Aftermath Silver Ltd (TSX-V:AAG, OTCQX:AAGFF) revealed new assay results from its Phase 2 diamond drill program at the Berenguela silver-copper-manganese deposit in southern Peru.
The company reported results from 23 additional holes of the planned 60-hole, 4,600-metre program.
Among the highlights was 23.6 meters grading 319 grams per tonne (g/t) silver, 2.19% copper, and 17.43% manganese from 2.6 meters downhole.
Another hole intersected 27.4 meters at 187 g/t silver, 0.97% copper, and 5.13% manganese from surface, including 5.6 meters at 410 g/t silver, 1.21% copper, and 5.81% manganese from 10.45 meters downhole.
A third returned 10.1 meters grading 273 g/t silver, 0.9% copper, and 4.11% manganese from surface.
The holes were drilled to investigate a north-south fault zone within the mineral resource, while others were infill holes on the eastern side, aimed at upgrading inferred resources to measured and indicated categories.
Ralph Rushton, Aftermath’s CEO, said the company is pleased with this second batch of results from Phase 2 drilling. “They are in line with the previous drilling in this area and will be incorporated into a revised block model,” the CEO told shareholders.
The drilling was conducted at a high angle to mineralization controls, with intersections assumed to represent true thickness. The weighted average core recovery in the mineralized intersections was 92%, though lower recoveries were noted near the surface and around some underground workings.
