C3 Metals Inc (TSX-V:CCCM, OTC:CARCF) has partnered with Nine Miles of Smiles (NMS) to deliver critical dental care and oral hygiene education to the Bellas Gate community in rural Jamaica, the company said on Monday.
Through the program, C3 Metals and NMS—a volunteer-run Canadian nonprofit—organized a mobile dental clinic that provided care to 175 people in the Bellas Gate area.
The initiative included oral health screenings, preventive fluoride treatments for school children, and on-site dental procedures such as extractions and cleanings, with more than 175 toothbrushes and hygiene kits distributed.
The initiative is supported by a grant from the RCF Foundation, according to a statement from C3.
"Our exploration work in Bellas Gate goes hand in hand with our commitment to leaving a positive, long-lasting legacy in the communities in which we operate,” said C3 CEO Dan Symons.
“Through initiatives like this, we aim to create sustainable opportunities that will continue to benefit local communities by providing education and the necessary tools for sustainable outcomes.”
C3 Metals staff assisted with logistics and patient support throughout the program, which also involved health screenings for conditions such as high blood pressure and diabetes.
