Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) has raised the prices of its Model X electric vehicles in the United States by $5,000, according to its website.
The standard all-wheel-drive Model X now costs $84,990, up from $79,990, while the higher-end Plaid version has increased from $94,990 to $99,990.
This follows a similar price adjustment in December, when the automaker raised the cost of its Model S by $5,000 in the U.S. Additionally, from February 1, Tesla increased prices across all its models in Canada.
The company did not give a specific reason for the latest price change.
However, it has been focusing on lowering production costs and recently reported a drop in material and labour expenses in the fourth quarter.
