Fineqia partners with Copper.co, reports record digital asset ETP AUM growth

Fineqia International Inc (CSE:FNQ, OTC:FNQQF) announced a strategic partnership between its subsidiary, Fineqia AG, and Copper.co, a digital asset custody, collateral management, and prime services company.

This collaboration aims to enhance the security of Fineqia AG's exchange-traded note (ETN) offerings by leveraging Copper's advanced custody solutions.

Under the agreement, Copper will securely store the assets supporting Fineqia AG's ETNs, safeguarding them against theft, loss, or unauthorized access.

Matteo Greco, digital asset research analyst at Fineqia, emphasized the importance of secure custody solutions.

"Providing secure custody solutions for the digital assets backing our ETNs is a top priority,” Greco said in a statement.

“This collaboration underscores Fineqia AG's commitment to offering reliable and transparent products."

Ross Budgen, client solutions director at Copper, called it “a mutually beneficial relationship."

In January 2025, Fineqia AG announced the issuance of the world's first ETN to deploy underlying crypto assets in decentralized finance (DeFi). The Fineqia FTSE Cardano Enhanced Yield ETN is listed on the Vienna Stock Exchange.

Exchange-traded products (ETPs), which include exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and ETNs, offer investors regulated and liquid access to a variety of asset classes. ETNs, such as those issued by Fineqia AG, are debt instruments that track the performance of an underlying asset, including cryptographically encrypted digital ones.

ETP market reaches record AUM in January

Fineqia also reported that its analysis of global exchange-traded products (ETPs) with digital assets as underlying collateral showed assets under management (AUM) reaching a new all-time high (ATH) of US$166.6 billion in January, marking a 10.4% increase from $150.9 billion at the beginning of the year.

The growth of ETPs, which include exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and exchange-traded notes (ETNs), outpaced the broader digital asset market growth in January.

The total market capitalization of digital assets increased by 7.6%, reaching $3.66 trillion from $3.34 trillion at the end of 2024. Bitcoin (BTC) spot ETFs were the primary driver, though altcoin ETPs also contributed to the net inflows observed in recent weeks.

"2024 marked the year of institutional acceptance of digital asset ETPs, with BTC spot ETFs leading the charge and attracting record-breaking inflows," said Fineqia’s CEO Bundeep Singh Rangar. "As we step into 2025, investor confidence continues to grow, particularly for other ETPs aside from Bitcoin."

Bitcoin's price rose by 9.4% in January, reaching over $102,000 from $93,400. The AUM of BTC ETPs increased by 11.3% to $138.6 billion from $124.6 billion, surpassing the previous all-time high recorded in December.

Ethereum (ETH), however, saw a 1.2% price decline, with ETH ETPs experiencing a corresponding 1.3% drop in AUM.

ETPs representing diversified baskets of cryptocurrencies saw an 11.3% rise in AUM, reaching $4.71 billion from $4.23 billion. Meanwhile, altcoin-tracking ETPs posted a 24.7% increase, growing to $7.23 billion from $5.79 billion. Ripple (XRP) ETPs saw the highest growth, surging 66.8% to $1.75 billion from $1.05 billion. Solana (SOL) and Cardano (ADA) ETPs also recorded strong gains, rising 22.9% and 25.5%, respectively.

The launch of the Fineqia FTSE Cardano Enhanced Yield ETN on January 24 contributed significantly to ADA’s AUM growth, with the product reaching $31.3 million by the end of the month.

Fineqia Research’s AUM analysis considers ETP launches and closures, tracking 235 ETPs as of January’s end.
