C3 Metals Inc (TSX-V:CCCM, OTC:CARCF) has announced positive results from soil and channel sampling campaigns at its 50%-owned Super Block gold project in Jamaica.
The company is the operator of the project as part of a 50/50 joint venture with Geophysx Jamaica Limited.
C3 Metals said a recently completed soil and channel sampling program confirmed strong gold geochemistry along trend and of similar intensity of the nearby historic Pennants Gold Mine, an open pit mine that produced approximately 16,000 gold ounces between 2002 and 2004.
Sampling identified highly anomalous gold values that coincide with radiometric (potassium) anomalies in both rock and soil.
At the Pennants East Zone (PEZ) prospect, gold anomalies were observed in soils along a 1,500-meter east-west trending potassium anomaly.
Notably, soil results included a 60-meter interval averaging 0.41 g/t gold and a 103-meter interval averaging 0.20 g/t gold, well above the 0.04 g/t threshold that is considered anomalous.
Additional sampling at the Donkey Hill Zone (DHZ) prospect highlighted highly anomalous gold in weathered bedrock, which aligns with a 550-meter by 150-meter northwest-southeast trending radiometric anomaly.
The best channel sample from this area reported 10 meters averaging 0.41 g/t gold.
"Recent geochemical sampling across the Super Block project identified highly anomalous gold geochemistry over a +5km strike to the northwest and southeast of the former, high-grade Pennants Gold Mine,” C3 Metals CEO Dan Symons said in a statement.
“The soil results are consistent with the gold in soil geochemistry over the former, high-grade Pennants Mine, which reported a historical resource at 20.4 g/t gold.”
To follow up on these results, the company plans to carry out a first pass 2,500-meter drill program starting in late Q1 or early Q2 2025.
