LVMH's Dior Homme brand has announced the departure of influential designer Kim Jones after seven years at the fashion label.
Having held a final Dior menswear show last week, Jones’ exit follows a string of high-profile designer reshuffles in recent years as the industry grapples with subdued growth.
LVMH had underwhelmed with figures showing fourth-quarter sales up 1% at €23.9 billion (£20.0 billion) earlier in the week, sending shares spiralling.
Hopes of a recovery across the sector, following positive updates from rivals Burberry Group PLC and Richemont earlier in the month, had appeared to have been dashed.
Though specific figures were not unveiled for its labels, LVMH had signalled a weaker performance at Dior than Louis Vuitton.
No successor for Jones was named, with Dior boss Delphine Arnault having flagged his “surprising, highly desirable artistic collaborations” after the latest show.
The shake-up follows Matthieu Blazy’s nomination as Chanel’s creative director and Glenn Martens at Maison Margiela in recent months.
LVMH dropped 0.6% to €711.60 on Friday.
