Olympio Metals Ltd has picked out multiple electromagnetic (EM) anomalies at its Dasserat porphyry gold-copper drill target in Quebec, Canada, which coincide with an extensive induced polarisation (IP) target – together, these confirm the company’s faith in the Dufay Project’s potential.
Managing director Sean Delaney said: “The TMC Geophysics crew has done a great job completing the EM survey at the Dufay Project over the last couple of weeks and we are using this data to guide the upcoming drilling program."
Large IP target
The recent ground EM survey confirms multiple anomalies at Dasserat and these coincide with a large IP target spanning over 1,200 metres.
The Dasserat Prospect is comparable to the 1.4 million-ounce gold equivalent Galloway porphyry deposit but remains undrilled.
“The recent EM survey at Dasserat has defined anomalies that are coincident with the previously observed large IP anomaly at Dasserat,” Delaney continued.
“The geophysical responses are consistent with a disseminated sulphide source, which is typical of the porphyry gold-copper mineralisation we are targeting at Dasserat.
“Drill preparations are progressing well and we hope to mobilise in early February as soon as all approvals are in place.”
Part of Cadillac Break
The Dufay Project spans 10 kilometres of the Cadillac Break, a major regional gold-copper mineralisation structure.
The EM survey, completed on January 16, 2025, revealed multiple anomalies aligning with a historical IP anomaly of more than 1,200 metres in strike length.
The target mineralisation at Dasserat is associated with disseminated sulphide deposits adjacent to mapped syenite porphyry intrusives.
Preparations for drilling are well advanced, with drill permit approval anticipated shortly.
A detailed technical review of the Dasserat and Chevrier drill targets was outlined in ASX announcements on December 10 and 18, 2024.
About the project
The Dufay Project is positioned along the Cadillac Break, a prolific mineralised corridor hosting world-class gold and copper deposits.
Some 35 kilometres west of Rouyn-Noranda, the area benefits from proximity to mining infrastructure, including a copper smelter.
Olympio has designed an eight-hole, 1,200-metre drilling campaign to test the combined EM and IP anomalies at Dasserat.
Mobilisation is expected in early February once approvals are finalised.
