Surefire Resources extends gold zone at Yidby to more than 500 metres

Surefire Resources NL has expanded the gold mineralisation zone at its 100%-owned Yidby Gold Project in Western Australia to more than 500 metres after receiving broad results from recent drilling.

Anomalous gold

The Yidby Gold Project in the Mid-West region is an emerging large gold system featuring mineralised zones up to 80 metres wide, with anomalous gold identified over a 3-kilometre strike length.

A recently completed drilling program of 14 reverse circulation (RC) holes totalling 1,782 metres targeted gravity anomalies identified through geophysical and structural interpretation.

Results from drill holes YBRC102 and YBRC103 confirmed significant intersections, including 32 metres at 0.25 g/t gold from 32 metres and 20 metres at 1.73 g/t gold from 80 metres, extending the mineralisation along strike and leaving it open at depth and along strike.

Low-cost recovery

Metallurgical test work has confirmed high gold recoveries, supporting plans for a low-cost heap leach operation.

The company noted the apparent width of mineralisation suggested the presence of a major gold system, further enhancing the project's potential.

Surefire has identified new priority drill targets through a combination of geophysical data analysis, structural interpretation and re-logging of drill chips.

Plans are underway for further extensional resource drilling to expand the known mineralisation.

Managing director Paul Burton said: “The continued successful drilling results show mineralisation extending beyond our previous high-grade intersects.

“The project has clear mineralising trends evident associated with a gravity island which provide targets for future drilling.

“There is support for a heap leach operation and the company will consider next steps for this.”
