Automated endpoint management platform NinjaOne® has entered a definitive agreement to acquire Dropsuite Ltd, a specialist in cloud data backup, archiving and recovery solutions, for approximately US$252 million (A$402.9 million).
The transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2025, subject to Dropsuite shareholder approval, court approval, Australia’s Foreign Investment Review Board (FIRB) approval and customary closing conditions.
This acquisition addresses the growing need for robust data protection as employees increasingly utilise SaaS (software-as-a-service) applications across multiple devices, exposing organisations to greater security risks.
Gartner projects that 75% of enterprises will prioritise SaaS application backups as a critical requirement by 2028, a significant increase from 15% in 2024. Additionally, a study by Enterprise Strategy Group reveals that 70% of employees use four or more devices daily, while 90% of IT organisations struggle to monitor all endpoints effectively.
Safeguard critical business data
NinjaOne’s integration with Dropsuite will provide IT and managed service provider (MSP) organisations with comprehensive tools to safeguard critical business data and ensure organisational resilience.
The combined platform aims to address challenges such as ransomware attacks, accidental deletions and compliance needs through:
- Extended data protection - Safeguarding SaaS application and physical device data from accidental loss and malicious threats.
- Automated setup and recovery - Streamlined business continuity with an automated suite for restoring files, emails, calendars and Entra ID in just a few clicks.
