Blavatnik invests another $827M in DAZN

Billionaire Sir Len Blavatnik has invested another $827 million into DAZN, a global sports streaming service.

This investment brings Blavatnik's total contributions to DAZN to over $6.7 billion since the company’s inception in 2016.

DAZN, which has been touted as the “Netflix of sports,” primarily focuses on live sports events, allowing viewers to watch competitions in real-time.

The platform covers a diverse range of sports, including boxing, MMA, wrestling, women's soccer, and extreme sports.

As of 2023, DAZN reported about 300 million monthly viewers, although only around 20 million are paying subscribers.

DAZN's revenues rose from $2.2 billion in 2022 to approximately $2.7 billion in 2023, with expectations to surpass $6 billion in 2025.

This growth is anticipated to be driven by new revenue streams, including the acquisition of Australian pay television company Foxtel and broadcasting rights for major events like the FIFA Club World Cup.
