ChatGPT is said to have been fixed after an outage on Thursday left thousands in limbo as they awaited the renowned artificial intelligence programme to come back online.
According to outage-tracking website Downdetector, thousands of users across the likes of the UK and US reported issues with the OpenAI-developed chatbot on Thursday.
“The web server reported a bad gateway error,” a message read as users tried and failed to access the programme to submit queries.
OpenAI subsequently said a fix had been implemented and that it was monitoring the results, but not before users took to social media to flag up their struggles.
“ChatGPT is down again? During the work day?” One user said on X, “so you're telling me I have to… THINK?!”
Another added: “BREAKING: ChatGPT is down globally. Productivity is about to take a nose dive everywhere.”
ChatGPT’s launch in 2022 sparked major interest in artificial intelligence globally, with OpenAI head Sam Altman last December tipping that the programme attracted 300 million users weekly.
