Recce has completed dosing for all 30 participants in its Phase II clinical trial of RECCE® 327 Topical Gel (R327G).
This trial focused on treating Acute Bacterial Skin and Skin Structure Infections (ABSSSI).
Conducted as an open-label study, it evaluated the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics and efficacy of R327G, applied daily over either seven or 14 days.
Preliminary results indicated complete cures or significant symptom improvement in participants, with no serious adverse events reported. The full trial results are expected in the first quarter of this year.
R327G is a synthetic anti-infective designed to address antibiotic-resistant infections.
The company highlighted its strong safety profile and efficacy, particularly in patients with highly resistant bacterial infections.
Recce plans to utilise the data to support regulatory submissions to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA).
A Phase III trial is scheduled to begin in Australia during the first half of this year.
