Great Boulder Resources Ltd has identified a new gold discovery at the Side Well Gold Project in Western Australia with aircore drilling revealing high-grade gold mineralisation at the Side Well South prospect north of the Golden Bracelet mine workings.
The results come from the final 15 aircore holes drilled in December last year, with grades of 23 metres at 0.94 g/t gold from 89 metres of depth, containing 3 metres at 4.16 g/t gold.
Other results of note included 4 metres at 0.66 g/t gold from 8 metres and 1 metre at 0.84 g/t gold from 59 metres in a second drill hole.
Highly prospective for gold
“The last aircore hole on the southern-most line we drilled before Christmas at Side Well South has intersected high-grade gold hosted in basalt, which is exactly the Ironbark-style mineralisation model we’ve been exploring for,” Great Boulder Resources managing director Andrew Paterson said.
“This result is perfectly timed, as we have just returned to Side Well to resume drilling in the area.
“We will follow up this result immediately and we hope to extend this gold zone south towards Golden Bracelet as we continue drilling.
“The historic workings are 400 metres southwest, and the surface gold anomaly continues more than 1 kilometre south of that, so there is a lot of room for new discoveries in this area.”
The company has now resumed drilling at Side Well South with 107 aircore holes remaining, following up high-priority geochemical targets in the area. GBR expects assays to be available in February and March.
Side Well Project, which is near Meekatharra, hosts a mineral resource of 668,000 ounces at 2.8 g/t gold.
