Abrdn fund outflows remain the key thing to watch and worry

Abrdn PLC (LSE:ABDN) is back near its all-time lows again having briefly threatened a rally towards the end of 2024, but that was halted by the last update showing net outflows across all segments totalling £3.1 billion.

Outflows in its core investments division hit £3.5 billion, while the advisor segment saw outflows of £1 billion.

Abrdn vowed to address these issues, with chief executive Jason Windsor stating: "We have plans in place to address our challenges and our transformation programme is on track.

Axing £60 million in cost savings this financial year and at least £150 million by the end of the 2025 financial year was one of the plans he unveiled.

UBS adds that the key thing to watch will again be investments vector fund flows, where it is forecasting a £3.6 billion outflow including £2.8bn from institutional and wealth.
