Character Group PLC (AIM:CCT) said Christmas trading, and the preceding four months, was very similar on a like-for-like basis to the prior year.
Looking to the remainder of its financial year, which ends 31 August, the company said it continues to expect consistent sales and revenues in line with its previous year.
The character licensing firm, in a statement ahead of today’s AGM, told investors that it is excited to be kicking off 2025 showcasing of its portfolio of products at the London Toy Fair at Olympia next week, and the Nurenberg Toy Fair in the week after.
“These two international fairs are the biggest events in our annual marketing calendar for Europe and present us with the opportunity to market and exhibit our existing catalogue of products to customers and introduce, ahead of market launch, the scheduled developments, and additions to our portfolio for the year ahead,” the company said.
“The customer previews of our 2025 ranges have been very successful to date, and we are confident that the ranges will perform well for the group in the coming year.”
Character Group added that its financial position remained strong, with a healthy net cash position and unutilized working capital facilities. It plans to continue its share buyback programme, pending renewal of its buyback authority at the AGM.
