Stellantis NV (NYSE:STLA, EPA:STLA), the automaker behind Jeep, Ram, Chrysler, Fiat, and Peugeot, reported a 9% drop in vehicle deliveries globally for the fourth quarter of 2024.
In North America, deliveries dropped 28%, with 115,000 fewer cars shipped compared to the same period in 2023.
The decline reflects the company’s deliberate efforts to reduce excess inventory at US dealerships.
To achieve this, Stellantis increased customer incentives and scaled back shipments to dealers, successfully reducing American dealer inventory by 80,000 vehicles, and ending the quarter with just over 300,000 units.
This "normalisation" aims to position Stellantis for the launch of new Jeep, Ram, and Dodge models in 2025. European deliveries also fell, down 6% year-on-year to 693,000 units.
