Great Southern Copper hits mineralisation with first hole at Mostaza

Great Southern Copper PLC (LSE:GSCU) said drill results from its first hole at the historical Mostaza mine on the Cerro Negro project in northern Chile had intersected mineralisation.

The diamond hole was drilled to a depth of 103.5 metres depth and intersected 20 metres of intensely altered and mineralised rock between 27 metres and 47 metres depth, confirming copper/gold mineralisation continuity below the historical open pit.

Targeting the path of an earlier, historical hole, the intercepts closely correlated with that hole’s results and confirmed that the lens occurs as a west-dipping tabular body that is open and untested at depth.

This first hole is part of a plan for between five and ten diamond holes at Mostaza covering 500-1,000 metres.

Full assay results are pending while GSC added it has completed the second hole covering 61.60 metres and intersected the same alternation zone and mineralisation. The third drill hole is also now underway

Sam Garrett, GSC’s chief executive, said: "The intersection aligns closely with historical drilling, indicating a west-dipping tabular body that remains open and untested at depth.

"Our drilling programme at the Mostaza mine is progressing well with the second hole now complete and the third underway.”
