Taylor Wimpey needs to distance itself from sector malaise

Thus far, FTSE 100 member Taylor Wimpey PLC (LSE:TW.) has been a counterbalance to the cost concerns at Persimmon and Vistry’s meltdown.

That hasn’t stopped its share price tanking 33% since October in line with its peers due to interest/mortgage rate concerns but potentially it has recovery prospects, says UBS.

"We think investors will be focused on sales outlet evolution (with management guiding to just over 200 year-end outlets in November) and the 2024 year-end private order book (UBS forecast 2.75k private units)."

Consensus currently expects pre-tax profits to increase from £420 million in 2024 to £496/£593 million in 2025/26.

Completions are forecast to increase from 10,000 in 2024 to 10,500/11,300 in 2025/26 with operating margins rising from 2.3% in 2024 to 15.0% in 2026.
