The countdown is now on for the start of Zephyr Energy PLC's (AIM:ZPHR, OTCQB:ZPHRF) next well programme, as the Nabors Drilling USA B29 rig is now being mobilised to the existing State 36-2 LNW-CC-R well, at the Paradox project in Utah.
Zephyr expects to start drilling in mid-January, once the rigging-up process is completed.
“The well has the potential to be a major catalyst in the development of the Paradox project and we look forward to providing further updates on progress in due course,” chief executive Colin Harrington said in a statement.
Preparatory work on the well, including the removal of production tubing from the existing wellbore, has been carried out using a cost-effective workover rig.
The drilling will see Zephyr establish an extended lateral well to target an additional 5,500 feet of the Cane Creek reservoir.
It is expected to take around 30 days from spudding.
