Shares in N4 Pharma PLC (AIM:N4P) jumped 26% in the first hour of trading following the announcement of key directorate hire.
Dr Alastair Smith, founder and former CEO of biotech firm Avacta Group PLC (AIM:AVCT), has joined as an independent non-exec.
Smith brings extensive experience, having led Avacta’s growth into a leading AIM-listed biotech with oncology and diagnostics divisions.
His appointment coincides with the retirement of David Templeton for personal reasons.
N4 Pharma, which is focused on its proprietary gene delivery system, Nuvec, to advance cancer and other therapies, has welcomed Smith’s strategic expertise as it continues its development journey.
In early trading, the stock was up 0.14p at 0.66p.
