G Mining Ventures Corp (TSX:GMIN, OTCQX:GMINF) announced that it has received an Interim Environmental Permit from Guyana's Environmental Protection Agency for the Oko West gold project.
This one-year permit, combined with a "No Objection" letter from the Guyana Forestry Commission, allows the company to begin early construction activities.
In the first half of 2025, the company plans to advance several early works activities, including a barge landing facility, roads, an airstrip, a permanent camp, water and sewerage treatment plants, power generation and a communication tower.
The company highlighted that the permit marks progress toward a final environmental permit, which is expected to be granted following a 60-day comment period and further regulatory reviews.
Other key milestones for the project in 2025 include the publication of a feasibility study in Q2 and a formal construction decision in the second half of the year.
"The approval of the Interim Environmental Permit represents an important step in reaching a construction decision for the Oko West project," G Mining Ventures CEO Louis-Pierre Gignac said in a statement.
"We are excited to have the opportunity to commence early works activities ahead of schedule and to grow the local team in preparation for the main construction phase."
Shares of G Mining Ventures gained 4.8% on Tuesday morning in Toronto.
