NVIDIA Corp (NASDAQ:NVDA, ETR:NVD) CEO Jensen Huang electrified CES 2025 with three major announcements that added $124bn to the chipmaker's valuation, putting it within touching distance of Apple, the world's most valuable business.
In a series of big reveals, the 'godfather of artificial intelligence' wowed the Las Vegas auditorium with a compact AI super chip called the GB10, a robotics and autonomous systems platform named Cosmos, and the high-powered GeForce RTX 50 series graphics cards.
The GB10 chip, based on Nvidia’s flagship GB200 platform, pairs a Blackwell GPU with a Grace CPU, offering desktop-scale AI computing through Project DIGITS - a system equipped with 128GB of memory and 4TB of storage, slated for release in May.
Huang also introduced Cosmos, a platform designed to simulate real-world scenarios for robots and self-driving cars, reducing development costs. Nvidia’s Isaac GROOT Blueprint, compatible with Apple’s Vision Pro, will further assist in training humanoid robots.
On the gaming front, the GeForce RTX 5090 promises double the performance of its predecessor, while the entry-level RTX 5070 leverages AI to rival last-gen’s flagship cards.
Wall Street was not oblivious to the flurry of announcements as the shares were bid 3.43% higher to $149.43, valuing Nvidia at $3.66 trillion. The pre-market betting suggests further gains on Tuesday at the open.
