Wizz Air Holdings PLC (AIM:WIZZ) reported a 1.9% year-on-year increase in passenger numbers for December 2024, carrying 5.06 million passengers.
The European budget airline's seat capacity was down 3.1%, but its load factor improved to 86.5%, up from 82.1% in the same period last year.
Wizz Air achieved a 4.1% year-on-year reduction in CO2 emissions per passenger kilometre, which stood at 53.7 grams for the month. Total CO2 emissions for December were 482,951 metric tonnes, down 3.4% compared to the previous year.
For the rolling 12-month period ending December 2024, Wizz Air carried 62.69 million passengers, representing a 3.9% increase from 2023. CO2 emissions over the same period increased by 4.7% to 5.76 million metric tonnes.
