Midnight Sun Mining secures license renewal for Kazhiba target

Midnight Sun Mining Corp (TSX-V:MMA, OTCQB:MDNGF) announced the approval of its renewal application for Large Scale Exploration Licence 21509-HQ-LEL, covering the Kazhiba Target.

CEO Al Fabbro highlighted the resolution as a key milestone for the company’s exploration and development strategy.

“The Kazhiba licence issue has been resolved, removing any concern as to the status of this critical component of our exploration and development plans,” Fabbro said in a statement.

Midnight Sun’s near-term focus includes completing its exploration program at Kazhiba in collaboration with First Quantum Minerals (TSX:FM). The program is part of a broader effort to identify near-surface oxide copper mineralization for integration into Kansanshi, Africa’s largest copper mining complex, located nearby.

“Near-term production and potential cash-flow provides incredibly rare optionality to our Solwezi Project, and a non-dilutive path toward the continued exploration of our underlying sulphide copper targets at Kazhiba, Mitu and Crunch,” Fabbro added.

The Solwezi targets include Kazhiba, Mitu, and Crunch, which contain underlying sulphide copper mineralization.

In addition, Midnight Sun and KoBold Metals have agreed to amend their earn-in agreement to remove the longstop date, allowing additional time to obtain regulatory approvals in Zambia. This agreement, originally announced in February 2024, is a cornerstone of the company’s partnerships for advancing its projects.
