Small cap wrap: Cyclone Metals leads small cap gains with 96% rise

Proactive’s Tylah Tully talks through the top movers this week in the small caps sector of the ASX.

Cyclone Metals Ltd (ASX:CLE) led the small caps sector this week, rising by 96% to a high of 4.9 cents before settling at 4.4 cents.

Sprintex Ltd (ASX:SIX) also recorded strong gains, increasing 30% to 6.8 cents following announcements of significant distribution deals. Highlights include a $17.5 million exclusive agreement with Air End Repair in the UK and a $7.16 million deal with Euroteck Environmental in India. These commitments, alongside previous deals in Türkiye and India, bring Sprintex’s global minimum order value to $30 million.

Buru Energy Ltd (ASX:BRU, OTC:BRNGF) saw a 22% rise, now trading at 3.4 cents. The company is focusing on its Rafael project in Western Australia's Canning Basin and exploring the potential restart of the Ungani oilfield. Buru targets a final investment decision on Rafael by late 2025, with first gas production anticipated in 2027.

Peninsula Energy Ltd (ASX:PEN, OTCQB:PENMF) reached a weekly high of $1.18 after restarting uranium production at Wyoming’s Lance Projects. This marks its return to production after a five-year hiatus, with dry yellowcake expected by early March.

Orthocell Ltd (ASX:OCC, OTC:ORHHF) climbed 15% to $1.27. The company submitted a 510(k) application to the U.S. FDA for its nerve repair product, Remplir™, targeting the $1.6 billion US nerve repair market.
