Apollo Minerals looks to 2025 after encouraging Salanie gold drilling campaign

Apollo Minerals Ltd (ASX:AON, OTC:APOMF) has received all assays from its 2024 exploration activities at the Salanie Gold Project in Gabon, with site planning now underway for drilling activities to start in early 2025.

Working in the company’s favour was the lack of exploration or modern drilling in 70 years and as such, Apollo was able to deliver exceptional results which highlighted the project’s untapped potential.

Apollo initially targeted the high-grade mineralisation at the A1 Prospect which is open along strike and dip.

Mineralisation aligns with and extends trends observed in trench SATR001, which returned 10.3 metres at 3.4 g/t gold and 1.4 metres at 15.7 g/t.

Proactive caught up with Apollo Minerals managing director Neil Inwood last week to discuss the latest results from Salanie, where drilling intersected shallow, high-grade gold at the A1 Prospect, returning 11.7 metres at 4.3 g/t gold from 9.6 metres, including 5.8 metres at 8.2 g/t from 15.5 metres in drill hole SLDD004.

“This first drilling at Salanie in 70 years provided very encouraging results, demonstrating shallow high-grade gold mineralisation and confirming the presence of a mineralised system at the A1Prospect that is open along strike and dip," Inwood said.

"We are also seeing mineralisation along trend of the historical high-grade P6 underground workings, which will also form a key part of the 2025 drill program.

“These results highlight the untested potential of the Salanie Gold Project and we look forward to hitting the ground early in 2025.”

Looking to 2025

The 2025 drilling campaign will target untested zones at priority prospects A2, A3, and P6, alongside further extensions of the current A1 mineralisation.

The company’s one-for-three non-renounceable pro-rata entitlements offer is open and scheduled to close at 5:00 pm (AWST) on December 24, 2024.
