BAE downgraded by Deutsche Bank, but 2025 still looking strong

BAE Systems PLC (LSE:BA.)’s share price target has been adjusted to 1,510p from 1,540p by Deutsche Bank, although the investment bank has reaffirmed its ‘buy’ recommendation for the defence company.

The last closing price for BAE Systems shares was 1,197p.

Deutsche analyst Christophe Menard highlighted robust expectations for 2025, predicting strong order intake driven by Foreign Military Sales (FMS) and Eurofighter orders.

He said: “We see 2025 as another good year for order intake at BAE Systems, with both FMS and Eurofighter orders set to contribute to the company's performance.

“Margin expansion should continue, albeit at a more measured pace than we initially estimated.”

Menard pointed to BAE Systems’ dual exposure to American and European clients as a strength.

He added that the company is well-positioned to capitalise on increased NATO demands and rising US presence in the Asia-Pacific region, particularly in air and naval applications.
