Filament Health Corp (NEO:FH, OTCQB:FLHLF) announced that Magdelana Biosciences, its joint venture with Jaguar Health, has imported six kilograms of coca leaf from Petro to Filament’s Vancouver research and development facility.
The natural psychedelic drug development company said it will use the imported coca leaf will be used in the development of a botanical drug candidate for the treatment of ADHD in adults.
"By importing this significant volume of raw material, we are able to begin the important work of exploring coca leaf's therapeutic potential for the treatment of ADHD," Filament Health CEO and Magdalena board member Benjamin Lightburn said.
"This import was a significant regulatory achievement by our team and we are grateful to the Peruvian government for its ongoing partnership."
This marks the second import of coca leaf by Magdalena.
It was authorized by Peru's Health Authority and sourced from ENACO, the sole authorized distributor of coca leaf in Peru.
"We are pleased to partner with Filament Health and Magdalena to facilitate this second import of coca leaf," ENACO technical director Silveria Dongo Gonzales said.
