StickIt Technologies Inc. (CSE:STKT) earlier this week shared details about its development of a medical straw designed to simplify the delivery of vitamins and medications.
The company’s president, Dr Asher Holzer, explained that this technology builds on their existing innovations, initially targeting cannabis consumption.
The straw incorporates a cartridge with granulated particles, which dissolve when liquid passes through. This approach masks unpleasant tastes, making it ideal for children and others who struggle with swallowing pills or consuming syrups.
“We give them an option to drink chocolate or milk without even feeling they’re consuming the vitamins,” Dr Holzer said.
For medications, StickIt plans to collaborate with pharmaceutical companies to integrate their products. The company aims to have this technology ready for market by the end of 2025, benefiting from a straightforward regulatory process since the products themselves remain unchanged.
Dr Holzer emphasized that entering the pharmaceutical market presents a lucrative opportunity for the company, particularly in the pediatric segment.
This innovation could transform how vitamins and medications are administered, offering a convenient and user-friendly solution.
