Supermarket Income REIT shares go live in South Africa

Supermarket Income REIT PLC (LSE:SUPR, OTC:SUPIF) has listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange in South Africa.

The London-listed supermarket property investor initially declared its intention to list shares on the JSE in its full–year earnings report in September.

Nick Hewson, chair of Supermarket Income REIT, said: “At the company's annual results in September, we signalled our intention to proceed with a secondary listing on the JSE and we are pleased to be announcing the completion of that process today with SUPR's first day of trading on the JSE.

“A secondary listing will provide the Company with a number of benefits including enhancing its profile with a broader investor base, further improving trading liquidity and the diversity of our shareholder register."

Supermarket REIT does not intend to place or issue any new shares in connection with the listing.

The company will remain listed on the closed-ended investment funds category of the Financial Conduct Authority's Official List and traded on the London Stock Exchange's Main Market.

PSG Capital Proprietary Limited acts as Supermarket REIT’s transaction advisor and sponsor in South Africa.
